Madu bukan sekadar pemanis semula jadi; banyak kajian menunjukkan ia mengandungi sebatian bioaktif dengan kesan baik kepada pelbagai sistem tubuh. Namun, ia tetap makanan tinggi gula, jadi manfaatnya muncul terutamanya bila menggantikan pemanis lain dan diambil secara sederhana.

1. Antimikrob & Penyembuhan Luka

• Madu mempunyai aktiviti antibakteria, antivirus dan antifungal; berkesan terhadap pelbagai bakteria dan kulat, termasuk Candida spp. (Cianciosi et al., 2018; Gajger et al., 2025; Xie & Coghi, 2025; Samarghandian et al., 2017; Al-Kafaween et al., 2023; Hanif et al., 2025; Pătruică et al., 2022).
